Thank you for all your help with our EXPOnenti'Ale celebration last week. You were all a pleasure to work with.
Diane and her team came highly recommended to us. Even so, her catering exceeded expectation. Everyone said it was the best food they had ever tasted at a camp - restaurant quality! Both Steve and Moh were friendly and helpful while on-site, and, although we didn't have the need to call them with issues, we know they would have been more than helpful if we had.
Thank you again for helping us make our 30th Anniversary a successful weekend that will be remembered and talked about for years to come!
Tiddley Cove Morris Ale Committee,
As anyone knows, picking a venue for one of the most important days of your life can be a challenge and even stressful. However, when you’ve grown up spending your summers in Crescent Beach it becomes pretty clear where the most peaceful, beautiful and romantic place to have a wedding is…Crescent Beach! When we first started to think about where at the beach could accommodate such an event, which had many out of towners, and 150 guests. It took us a few moments before we thought of Camp Alexandra. The reason is; you always think of Camp A as this quiet resort for kid’s summer camps. You would be wrong, way wrong. Camp Alexandra became very clear to us after our first visit with the wonderful staff there (Vanessa specifically) that this was not only our place to get married but a hidden gem of the lower mainland that not many people knew about. Our wedding was unique because we wanted 30 out of town guests to come for the whole week and stay with us at Crescent Beach. In our first meeting Vanessa said, “no problem, we can do that”. We responded with; well, we also need to feed them 3 meals a day and at the end of the week have the reception for 150 people and feed them. Camp A said, “We can do that too!” Camp A made our wedding day into a wedding week and to this day almost a full 3 years later people that came for the whole week and the reception rave about how magical our wedding was and how the camp was one of the highlights of the week.
In all, we housed 33 guests for the whole week with 3 meals per day. We had access to the great bathrooms on site, the fire pit, the BBQ and all the other great amenities they offer. We also went on many daily fieldtrips and the Camp was very accommodating with allowing us to stage our charter bus pick-ups around the camp and security well we were gone was excellent. I encourage anyone to look at any venue in BC and find a staff and place that goes above and beyond what you ever could have dreamed, for a week long wedding that is better than Camp A. When we walk by Camp A now on our daily walks or ride by on our bikes to the pool for lessons or family swims, we always peak in and say remember when……remember when this amazing hidden gem provided the best place we could have dreamed of to hold our week long wedding. Thank you Vanessa and staff for everything and thank you Camp A for being our forever spot!

Innis and I were married at Alexandra Neighbourhood House, on an August long weekend, and I'm not sure we'll be successful in finding all the right words to describe how happy we are that we chose this place!

"We wanted our friends and family to feel like they'd come to a great party, had amazing food and drink at a magical place that felt like a beautiful, old summer camp, where they could just kick their feet up or down, and have a ball:) This camp reflected us so very much (we were told over and over) with it's wimsy and fun and beauty and overall feeling of cozy. The cabins were perfect and so quaint, the Longhouse, so accommodating. The fire pit provided for many songs, long into the night. There was so much room for preparation beforehand, and it was wonderful having the beach half a block away too. Many guests wandered over there to sit and watch the stars or go for a swim. We had around 20 kids (infants-teens) in attendance, and this place could not have been more perfect for them. We set up a little bouncy castle, had bocce and badminton, face painting, a crafts room and a lemonade stand. So much room to run and play… kid heaven."

"The Alex House coordinator was so extremely accommodating. We had a very particular aesthetic in mind, and while the camp was already the perfect backdrop, she was so understanding and flexible with all of our requests. We must've exchanged dozens of emails with her prior to the wedding, along with a few visits, and at each turn, she was just so lovely and helpful, full of great suggestions. The catered breakfasts we had were ridiculously yummy and fresh. The cabins, kitchens, bathrooms, bar, hall etc. were all so clean. We had to do no prior work before all of our set up. "
"I can not recommend this place enough. It is so special. I would recommend any kind of event here (we definitely plan on coming back for a reunion!). We will always remember Camp Alexandra fondly."

"The Vancouver Folk Song Society's 2014 retreat was held at Alexandra Neighborhood House on the weekend of Oct 3 - 5. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, many stating that it was one of the best retreats of the past decade or more. The newly refurbished facility was greatly appreciated. The food was superb. The retreat organizing committee expressed gratitude for the extremely helpful, collaborative spirit of the staff during the many months of planning as well as during the retreat weekend. We are already planning and setting dates for future VFSS annual retreats and looking forward to many more years of working together at the incomparable Camp Alexandra."
