Building on two years of VG PlayRoom sessions where artists experiment with new ideas, Virginia Gillespie has opened the Word Studio upstairs in Alexandra Hall to develop projects, events and training in the Verbal Arts. Performance oriented, Word Studio will generate ideas and projects for a variety of events and engage with the community.
Our most recent LIT CAFE with the theme "Spring Fever: Tales of Renewal, Hope, and Love, was held April 30 featuring authors Don Cameron, Ben Nuttall-Smith, Andrea Paquette, Jill Tunbridge, and Ken Westdorp. Watch this space for the next installment of this very popular quarterly literary event fthat features local authors reading from their works and includes an open mic and panel discussion with our featured authors.
Our long-running lunch program is offered the second Wednesday of the monthat noon, September to June. To honour the sesquicentennial of Canadian Confederation, we’ve celebrated the provinces and territories of Canada. The last lunch before summer break is June 13 and Saskatchewan shines with Pierogis with Onion, Farmer’s Sausage and Sour Cream, Saskatoon Berry Coffee Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream, Tea and Coffee. Lunches resume in September.
